New Racer School (NRS)
For those riders with the desire to pursue motorcycle road racing, Cascade Tracktime offers a "New Racer School (NRS)". Our NRS is different from others as we focus solely on preparing our students for competition with OMRRA. The NRS focuses on the skills needed to be a safe and competent racer featuring 20 minutes every hour of on-track instruction as well as 25 minutes every hour in the classroom. We use on-bike video analysis, still picture analysis and technique demonstration throughout the new racer school. Taught by some of the PacNW's finest club racers and AMA privateers, the Cascade Tracktime NRS offers an opportunity to get in-depth group and one-on-one instruction with practical classroom instruction from outstanding riders and instructors. Space is limited for these events with the NRS price including the trackday.
Safety is #1. Without a safe event we cannot expect our customers to have fun and learn. We work very hard to ensure your safety at our events. Our events are closely supervised by corner workers and by our on-track instructors. Unsafe, overly aggressive riding is never tolerated. Have a problem with any rider on the track, come and talk to me or any other instructor...we want to know about it. After all, we are all riding the same track and following the same rules.
For 2009, Cascade Tracktime will have tire services provided by SB Motorsports (Michelin), KFG (Dunlop), Hwy 66 Motorsports (Bridgestone), and Competition Motors (Pirelli). All have committed to full attendance for the 2009 season (pre-OMRRA race weekends). Chassis and suspension tuning services provided by SDS Performance and KFG. New for 2009 will be a self service tire changing area where stands and tools are available for your use to pull your own wheels. This works out great for those of you who have to ride your bike to the track.

The Cascade Tracktime New Racer School (NRS) is for those individuals who wish to take track riding to another level and compete in sanctioned road race events. Here's how it works:
- Decide that you want to road race.
- Register for the NRS.
- Complete the NRS and acheive a PASS. If you do NOT pass, you will be required to retake the NRS.
- Receive a Certificate of Completion and take that to OMRRA.
- Purchase your "Check Ride" so OMRRA officials may evaluate your competency.
- A satisfactory "Check Ride" means you are ready to be an OMRRA Novice.
- Purchase your OMRRA Novice License and get ready to have some fun.
There is nothing more fun than participating in motorcycle road race events. The competition and comeraderie are second to none. Before confirming that you want to participate you need to consider all that is involved:
- Racing is expensive
- Racing places high demand on your time
- Racing is dangerous and you can become seriously injured or killed while participating
Knowing that, if you are still willing to participate, then the NRS school is for you. Here is some more information:
- The NRS is not taught by former AMA or World level champions or riders.
- The NRS is taught by some of the better OMRRA past and current racers.
- The NRS will not make you a better racer, you have to do that for yourself.
- The NRS will teach you the basics you need to be a competent and safe club racing competitor and provide a solid foundation for continued improvement.
